Mick Rossi: Songs
from the Broken Land (September
2008)
Pianist,
composer, percussionist, conductor, and arranger Mick Rossi – a
member of the Philip Glass Ensemble, both as percussionist and
keyboardist – is known for his diverse work in the NY Downtown
scene and beyond. The inspiration for the 25 hip and compact
improvisational vignettes that Rossi features in this groundbreaking
solo piano recording are from the place he's called home for
more than 20 years – the place the early Dutch settlers
called "Bruekelen" (Brooklyn) or "The Broken Land.
